I went to amazon.com this afternoon and started looking for urns for Jazz and quickly became a little bit more than overwhelmed by all the wonderful choices. I haven't come close to looking at all of them yet, either...I've come up with four choices out of the ones I've looked at.
This one is the first one that caught my eye. It reminds me of her laying in her little bed. Drawback--it's pretty expensive for a non-brass urn.
The second one is a Rainbow Bridge themed one made of crushed marble and hand painted. Beautiful. But pricey!
The third one is very purple and suits my tastes being as though I love all things purple, but does it suit Jazz?
The fourth one is brass, which I like, and very pretty and unique. But it looks a bit too big for my baby. I'm also wary that there are no reviews for it, and of the $12 shipping and handling.
So what do you guys think? Which one(s) do you like? So far the first three are the ones that I'm really struggling between. The fourth one catches my eye but not as much for the reasons I stated. Do you have any other ideas to throw into the mix to overload me further? ;) Any and all bits of input are more than welcome!!

I can, however, answer some questions about that latter company. I've dealt with them, when I was building and designin monuments.
The overall size is about right, for a medium-sized cat memorial (i.e. an animal weighing between 8 and 18 pounds). The thing is, it's more of an overall upright form, rather than being wider than tall. It's a regal sort of appearance and more traditional. It's heavy, too; that's why the cost of shipping is higher. The danger isn't in the thing rolling around, it's so it doesn't pop out of the box. (Had that happen a lot. Doesn't hurt the urn, of course, but the delivery guys get kind of squeaky when they see the thing hit the ground and automatically insert Umpty-Great Auntie Enid in their minds.)
I like the looks of the third one, personally - it's not overstated, it doesn't look morbid or maudlin, yet won't be mistaken for a curio or a relish bowl.
(My guys are all in milled cedar boxes. In my weird little world, the final resting place isn't as important as who's doing the resting - they know how important they are.)
Good luck in your decision.

Diva is in this urn. I spent a couple of days before she was due to come home surfing both amazon and etsy and this particular one just spoke to me. I thought it was pretty darn reasonably priced for a brass urn. I ordered the smallest one and it was HUGE compared to her actual cremains. I'd rather go larger than not big enough, obviously, but wow!
The more I think about it, the Rainbow Bridge themed one is a bit much, so that's slowly going out of the running. It's now mainly between the first one and the third one. J likes the first one more than any of the others, commenting that it reminds him of Jazz laying in her little blue bed, a place she spent a great deal of her time. But damn, do I love that purple one brass one, too! Me and my obsessive love of the colour purple... ;)
At least I'm starting to narrow it down. And I've got some time--vet's office says it'll take at least two weeks for the cremains to come back to them, so that's a good thing. No need to rush my decision.
Thanks for your thoughts on this matter. I really appreciate it! :)

Plus, you like the colour, and if you're going to have something in your house, might as well have something that appeals to you. (Not going to lie - that Rainbow Bridge one kind of squicked me out. I'm sure there are people to whom that appeals, but I think it'd keep me up at night.)
As a perhaps useless anecdote, my cats all being in wood, either maple, cedar, or redwood, is something I like, as unstained/unpainted wood appeals to me, and so I look at those boxes often. My mom, on the other hand, I had put into a copper urn, because she was from a copper-mining town, and I wanted something I thought she would like.
Other than for her service, I've never taken the thing from its bag.
Probably not much help, but something to think of.
