32 Flavours...and then Some!

On this date in 1962, my parents were wed. They managed to stay together until my father's death parted them in 2003. I would like to imagine they remain together today, only now it's in The Other World, wherever that may be in your belief system. I'm not sure if that's in a Christian God's Heaven or elsewhere, but I believe it's A Good Place for them and that they are alternately loving each other and driving each other crazy wherever it is that they currently reside together.

Happy 52nd anniversary, Mom and Dad. I love and miss you both... <3

In honor of Mother's Day, here's a picture of my mother from before she got sick, goofing around at the golf course. She picked up golfing in her later years, and she really enjoyed the sport a lot. I've no doubt that, where ever her soul is Out There in the Great Beyond, she picked up at least nine holes on the Great Golf Course in honor of Mother's Day...



This is the eighth Mother's Day we've had without her; the day is still a bit difficult to get through, but it was manageable this year with no tears and no really sad or depressed time. I think that would make her happy.

She and I had A History--lots of bad times, but lots of good times, too, especially after we mostly made our peace with each other when I was in my late 20somethings. I'm glad for that--so many people never make peace in their troubled relationships with their parents, but I was lucky that I did for the most part with both my Mom and my Dad...
