He's now decided to, one by one, reject his formerly favorite flavors of Gravy Lovers gushy food. The other day he vetoed the turkey, and today he rejected the chicken. At least he's still seeming to want to bother with the salmon, which is good, but...yeah.
I need a gravy/broth laden gushy fud as a vehicle to deploy the powdered probiotics and the powdered benefiber that he'll at least eat the gravy/broth off of. I tried Friskies but theirs is woefully low on gravy/sauce, making mixing the powder(s) in a bit difficult. I know either Friskies or Fancy Feast has a line of broth oriented gushy fuds that I'm going to look into later today, so that's my next line of attack.
Internet Cat Hivemind--any ideas for gravy/sauce/broth bountiful gushy fuds I can look for??? Any and all ideas are welcome, and damn the cost!
Otherwise he's doing about the same. Still not quite back to normal either in personality or in the downloads department, kinda maintaining a status quo of sorts in the middle ground of things. This leaves us both hopeful for further improvement and frustrated that it's not forthcoming more quickly.
Sigh. He *had* to reject the Gravy Lovers shit. He just *Had To*...

Of course it'll be your luck that the fuzzy little turd won't like clam juice, but still, it's worth a try..

Lars is pretty big on fishy tasting things, so this just might work...
Thanks for the reminder! :)

Chicken stock can be used for those of the poultry persuasion; thicken it slightly (or seriously saturate his beloved kibbles in it) and mix the meds in. Beef stock can be used also; if you're not making your own be sure to get the low- or non-sodium variety. (If you are buying, make sure you get the Stouffers, and not the nameless variant - it's a bit more expensive, but you know for sure what's going into it.)
And, as a last-ditch effort, there's always meatloaf, complete with juices and added gravy. The only problem with people-food pre-made gravy is that it is horribly salty, so I'd recommend you make it without any added salt whatsoever, and then salt it when you put it on your own food. (This is, of course, assuming that you aren't Veggiesaurs, in which case I apologise for any insult I may have inadvertently offered.)

Today was A Good Day--tried Halo brand Spot's Stew turkey flavor. I thought the stew in its name implied it would be a gravy based one, but it was more like an incredibly thick gravy to a light and soupy pate' with meat and some actual veggies mixed in it. Last I knew of, Lars was not a huge fan of pate' style wet food, and never a fan of vegetable matter. No matter, I pressed on and mixed his probiotics and benefiber in with a bit of it anyway because the can was open and therefore might as well try it so I don't waste a good 2 bucks for nothing. He gobbled it down like a total champ, only leaving some of the veggie bits behind in his wake! :) Winner winner turkey dinner, I guess? ;) Hoping I'll have the same luck with the rest of the can...
