DIVA: Her appetite has been waxing and waning a bit the last few days. Sometimes she noms quite well, other times she leaves a bit too much in the bowl. Not quite ready to put her back on the appetite stimulant pill to kickstart things again, though. Output has been alright, though we had to help it along a bit earlier this week with some enulose. At least she's seemingly back to normal in that department right now.
Funny episode occurred on Friday. A neighborhood stray appeared in the back yard and Diva went nuts! Growling, hissing, etc. Ra went a bit nutty, too, but Jazz was all like "whatevs" and didn't react at all. At one point Ra got too close to Diva while she was freaking out and she attacked him! D'oh! It was sorta funny the way she pew!pew!pew! hit at him when she attacked him. I LOLed.
JAZZ: She's off the Reglan and down to 2.5mg of prednisone once a day since Friday. So far so good. Her appetite's good, her output's good--good! She's due to come off the 1cc of enulose tomorrow morning. Bright eyed and active, she seems to have come through the latest bout of tummy troubles alright. She's been playing with her sparkle ball toys, leaving them on the bed for us to find, batting them down the hallways every now and again. Not too shabby for a 17 1/2 year old cat!
She's still eating the I/D (gastro friendly) wet food exclusively, no K/D kidney kibble in the mix yet save for a kibble or three she might snitch from Ra's bowl every now and again. She really digs the K/D kibble, too--I feel bad for not giving it to her, but past experience has borne out that she vomits it fairly regularly when I do give it to her in any tangible amount. So, at least for now, it's I/D wet until she's consistently keeping that down all the time with minimal prednisone on board. It's only been a couple of weeks since her last barfy episode and she's still on pred, so I think I'll hold off a little longer before I try the K/D kibble. Better safe than sorry in that department.
So hopefully we're in for a smooth patch with both the girls for awhile. It's been a rough month or so for them both, which made for a rough month or so for the Cat Parents, too. Lots of worrying on both our parts for our girl...We could use a break from the worry...
