So around 1900 tonight I go to measure Diva's water intake. I pour the water into the measuring container. There was still just a tiny hair under 300ml of water in there. This means Diva's barely consumed any water at all today.
Yeah, I know we give her 300ml of fluids a day. She also got 1/4 can of A/D, which is also some moisture. But hardly any water? Normally by that time of day she's consumed at least 50ml.
I couldn't call the vet for advice because they closed at 1900. She's active and feisty and eating her kibble along with the A/D. She's got the fluids on board. She's peed a lot today. Everything's on board except for the fucking water intake!
I fear dehydration, especially after her bout of diarrhea last night. The common way to test for dehydration is to pull the scruff of the neck and see how long it takes to retract. Immediately or close to it is what you want to see. Thing is, we just gave her her sub-qs about 15 minutes ago so the test probably won't be accurate. ARGH!!!
I'm sick to my stomach with worry. It's gonna be a long night...
