Diva went to the vet this morning for follow-up and fluids. She's been sneezing and has a gooey eye, so I figured (correctly) that she would be diagnosed with a Kitty Cold. She got a shot of Convenia, which is a long acting antibiotic (like a 10-day run of a regular antibiotic without all the drama) for it. I'll be watching her closely. She started with the sneezles on Saturday night, so I think we caught it soon enough where it shouldn't be a huge problem getting her over it with antibiotics now on board.

She also got her fluids, 150ml like we would've given her at home. She's to get 125-150ml AM and PM for the rest of the week.

Dr. B. was less than happy about the poo situation. I'm to double her enulose dose to 6ml for today. He didn't tell me what to do if she didn't poo today after that dose, so I'll call tomorrow if she doesn't poo by tomorrow morning. I'm betting he'll have me give her a bit more of it over the next few days to get her system in working order again. She *hates* enulose with a passion. I hate giving it to her, poor thing. But ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

He checked out her foot and said next time if we get her home with a cath to cut the bottom of the bandage a little bit to open it up a little bit to release the pressure. Yeah, right, buddy. I'm betting if it does happen again, we might try it, but chances are better that we'd just bring her in to get it out. I'm not risking my baby's foot/leg! He said he was afraid what happened would happen--yeah, well you didn't tell me the cut the bandage trick before I took her home ya goofball! :/ I understand he made a judgement call to keep it in in case she crashed over the weekend so it would be faster for a vet to help her if she crashed, but...yeah. It should've come out based on how swollen her foot was when I picked her up even. Chances are if they would've needed a catheter in to do work they would've probably had to pull the one she had in anyway because it had been in for a few days at that point and probably wouldn't have worked as well as it should have. My one thing I'm cranky with Dr. B. over--the catheter.

Overall, he says she looks good, to watch her output and the cold situation and to follow-up at the end of the week. She's due for her vaccines, but they'll have to wait at least a month or to make sure she's stable enough to handle the stress of it. Hopefully no surprises will pop up during the week in the mean time. I was planning on gradually reintegrating her into the rest of the house, but now I won't until her sneezing is under control. Don't want the other two kids to catch her cold. That would suck.

I picked up some more Rx food for the kids. I'm going to start transitioning Ra over to K/D kibble this week, and with two cats now eating it as their regular diet we're going to go through it a lot faster than we used to. So I got a 8.5 lb bag of kibble ($32!! OUCH!!) and a couple more cans of K/D and one can of A/D. I tried to feed Diva K/D canned last night by itself and she turned her nose up to it for the most part. She's all about the A/D, which I should only be feeding her sparingly. So when I fed her this morning I tried to mix K/D and A/D again, this time 1/8 can A/D to 1/4 can K/D. We'll see how she likes that. She scarfed down half/half mix of both pretty well, so I know that ratio works.

No charge for the visit or the shot today.:) YAY! :)
