One finds a lot of things when packing. I'm working on the spare room because virtually everything in there is stuff I've gotta make decisions on. I mean, who else is gonna know what school papers I want to keep or toss, what stuffed animals I want to keep, etc? It's easier to ask for help with the rest of the house, so I'm trying to get what I need to do on my own done. What a long strange trip it has been.....

I keep finding stuff that have to do with the ex. Back when I was Pam & Doug. Mostly cards. His handwriting. Stupid shit. Every stuffed animal he ever got me has been shoved into the donate pile.

Then there's shit from my parents. Mom's writing. I don't know if I mentioned this but I found a $200 Christmas check from 2003 in a card. Her old handwriting, not the shaky handwriting that came later.

I'm going through a box of college papers and whatnot right now. Binders of notes. Dean's list congratulatory letters. Papers with A and B grades. Tests with A and B grades. Proof that intelligent thoughts didn't come as hard that long ago. A fresh future ahead of me.

Yep. Bittersweet.

*hugs* i know the feeling purging and reviewing and reminding whilst packing brings...but new beginnings, no matter how hard, are really great.
