Today's performance went so much better than last night's performance! I know I was "on" more than I hit clinkers.:) And Dr. K. was quite pleased--no funny displeased faces, except for when someone made too much noise with their chair. My surogate parents--the Olsons (who live next door to mom) came to the performance today and they both liked it alot. And they were very proud.:) Last night my brother and sister-in-law came, but they had to leave at the intermission because my brother had to get home and get some sleep because he was going to go out plowing in the wee hours of the morning. The piece for spring will be something by Mozart, but I can't remember what the hell the name of it is for the life of me.:0 Rehearsals resume on January 30th.

Will I be going back? Hell yes! It's amazing how much I remember from my wee sprite days of playing violin for a few years--it does all come back! I remember more about reading music every time I practice. It's a challenge I enjoy. It embraces my love of music. I get to meet new people and hang out with [livejournal.com profile] naomh's mom, Jackie. And Jackie and I are on the verge of convincing my Aunt Penny to join, too!:D

Now that I've sung in front of an audience, [livejournal.com profile] coasterjulie and [livejournal.com profile] sbaehr are telling me I have no choice--they're going to badger me to do karaoke mercilessly until I suck it up and do it.;) It's all good. I'm pretty sure I can do Janis Joplin or Alanis Morissette without making a total and complete fool of myself...:)

We ended getting about 5 inches of snow last night. At least it makes everything look bright and clean, which has got to help with the seasonal affective disorder. As is par for the course, it's now bitter cold. Nothing record breaking, but the temps are supposed to fall to almost zero F and not get higher than upper teens. Brrrr!

Let's see, what else...My counter tops and sink look absolutely fab. I still have some stuff to put back where it belongs, and I have to clean out the bottom cupboards because some debris fell down into them, but I've been meaning to clean down there anyway. I've also got a wonderful, knitted wrap from my cousin Jackie that I'll devote a separate entry to soon. It's a medium purple colour and it's so soft!!! I'll take a pic of it, too.

I'll also post pics from after the performance that are on the digital camera, but I've gotta download the drivers and whatnot first.

Time to head off for Bedfordshire...

If I can do a decent rendition of the Ramones, you should be able to handle more than just Joplin at Karaoke.

You're right--I probably could handle something more than Joplin, but I want to start off with stuff I know I'm relatively decent at to build up my confidence.
