Now that she's on fluids every other day the peeing's diminished a bit, but the silly girl is still peeing on the guest bathroom floor. Nary a drop in the litter box, though she'll poop in there at least.
She'll piddle bits and bobs on her off fluids days and then around mid-day after she gets her fluids the night before there'll be a flood on the guest bath floor. :( The Kitty Prozac has done nothing to change her habits, nor did the pill to help her bladder/urinary tract relax. Of course not.
Talked to Dr. DiVerde today to verify what I'm seeing potty wise is the "new normal" with her being on fluids every other day and he thinks so. Since all the Kitty Prozac is doing is making her abnormally sleepy and has stripped her of much of her personality we're going to start weaning her off it this weekend if there isn't a miraculous change and she starts peeing in the box. Somehow I doubt there'll be a miraculous turnaround, so...yeah.
I am disappoint, as the cat macro says, that the Kitty Prozac didn't do anything positive for her. I'll be glad to have her off of the stuff. She's not stoned acting per se, but she's much sleepier during the day and she's just not right on it--doesn't play with her sparkle balls anymore, doesn't caterwaul (yes, I've missed that!), doesn't seek out my lap during the day as often as she did pre Kitty Prozac. She just spends most of her time sleeping on the top of my recliner until J gets home from work, then she perks up for a bit during the prime-time tee vee hours when we're in the den. She'll get off her perch, sit on J's lap or my lap, be a little more social than during the day.
I'll keep giving her the Senilife supplement til the bottle's gone. It doesn't seem to be doing anything for her either positively or negatively, so I figure what can it hurt to finish up the bottle and not waste it? Not that we would know if the Senilife is doing anything given how the Kitty Prozac has blitzed her out...The capsule is WAY too big to give to her orally so I cut it open and mix it in her food. Unfortunately she notices it's there and doesn't seem to care for the taste it leaves in her food--she'll barely eat half of food I put it in when I give it to her, so I don't think she's getting nearly enough of the stuff into her to be of any tangible benefit, but I keep trying anyway.
My poor, sweet girl. I just hope her personality returns to relative normalcy once we get her off the Kitty Prozac. I'll be so upset if it doesn't; it's my fault she got put on the stuff to begin with and to have it permanently ruin her personality would just put a hole in my heart. :/ I want my ol' girl back again, her talky playful self again. Even if it's just a little bit back to normal I'll be happy. And, I daresay, so will she.
Dammit, I've got something in my eye...*sniff*
