I've had this small, weird sorta pimple/sty thing in the very corner of my right eye right below the tear duct for--I dunno--awhile. Once I noticed it was there, it began to itch and seem like it was getting bigger, even though it probably wasn't. Well, as time went on it itched even more. Of course I'd rub my eye to scratch it, which would make my eye water, which would in turn make me sneeze. Lately, the itch became almost maddening at times, and I intended to ask my doctor about it at my annual exam next month...

Anyway, I don't think it's an issue anymore. This morning when I was rubbing my eye like mad I felt what seemed like a fairly large and crunchy eye boogie on my finger. Looked in the mirror and there's now an expanded pore sized hole where the little bump used to be. Despite the fact that my eye is still annoyingly itchy, I'm hoping my weird eye affliction is now gone. My dad gets alot of those sty things in his eyelids which he has had to have lanced (!!) in the past...I'm also hoping that those are not another one of the genetic legacies he's blessed me with ....Eye afflictions gross me out bigtime!!!

Your Eye.

I think you can get over the counter medication for things like that. Keep it clean so you don't get an infection.

Re: Your Eye.

I gotta go to walgreens to refill my effexor prescription today, so while I'm there I'll check out what sorts of eye goo they have. The last thing I need to deal with this semester is a damned eye infection! Imagine what a drag it would be trying to do all that reading for classes with a damned eye infection! Yikes!!!

Ewwww... I had a sty once but it didn't get as nasty. anyways the docs said it was a sty. I'm real prone to hair bumps, so I imagine this is why I get ingrown eyelashes and eyebrow hairs at times. The eyelashes are the worst, painful bumps that swell but once the eyelash breaks out (if I can see it I grab a tweezers and pull.. carefullly) and it drains, it heals pretty quick. I guess I'm pretty lucky there, that sty you have sounds pretty foul.

It sounds like a sty, you gotta be real careful with those so they don't get worse. I've had them before and they itch so much!!!

Those are so annoying! I started getting them when I started wear contact lens last year and they are a pain. Hope yours isn't anything serious.

sty update!

It has to have a gross sounding name, too, doesn't it? Anyway, it's still itching like mad, but the empty hole/pore thing looks smaller to me. Bought some of that sty relief gel stuff at Walgreens when I picked up my effexor. DH will have to help me with it, cuz I can't see too well without my glasses on. Hopefully this bad boy will stop itching and heal up all nice and fast for me!

Pam, who hopes not to share any more weird eye stories anytime soon.
