Yep. Still kickin'. Still training, too. After this week I'll be home for a week of field training, so that means I should realistically be able to update more often.;)

So far I've had a lot of information crammed into my head, had my I.D. picture taken (looks alot like a mug shot, ironically), taken two tests and cried twice. The first time I cried was the second day--after spending half the day listening to dry lectures on benefits for the morning and scary lectures in the afternoon about some of the many ways one can get fired, which basically includes most of my sarcastic sense of humor, it seems. The second time was this past Thursday when I got really frustrated trying to write an assigned "agent's impressions and assessment" or some such thing like that. I don't think I would've teared up if it weren't for the trainer person being such a bitch--she was quite snippy and even yelled a few times. Turns out one of her dogs had a stroke that morning and she decided to come in anyway. Still, it wasn't very appropriate and I wasn't the only one who didn't appreciate her behavior that afternoon. Her name is Jean, and I now refer to her as Mean Jean.;)

The tests are very easy and open book, so that's cool. Most of the training is really intersting and I'm doing well despite my frustrations in writing concise and simple assessments. I know I'll have alot more help in the field and I'll have a whole caseload worth of files to get examples from, unlike the way it was when we did the assignment in class.;/

The motel is alright, good enough and clean enough for what I need it for. The food at the training center is tasty, but funding for it ends sometime in November, so I'm not getting too used to it. I'm really fucking tired of buffet food-the DOC has accounts at Ponderosa and Old Country Buffet. I get nauseous every time I eat at Ponderosa, so I mostly eat at OCB. It's okay, but every night? Tedious. Not to mention the "intersting and colorful" types that tend to frequent places with lots of reasonably priced food...Methinks this week I'll go elsewhere to eat at least once--we can get reimbursed for up to $17.00 a night for dinner if we so choose. I figured I'd save that until later in training so I didn't shell out too much cash that would take about 2 months to get back.

I know I'm keeping this brief, but I haven't had much time whem I've been home and I take most of the time I spend on the computer catching up on emails and LJs. Just wanted to make I let y'all know I was doin' alright! I'll definitely go into more detail next weekend when I'll have alot more time to play on the computer!!

Meanwhile, hope you all are hangin' in there and I'll definitely catch up/update more next week!!

Love and stuff,
Pam
XOXOXOXOXOX
