**I talked to my adviser about the situation at my internship. He took it upon himself to call my supervisor at community corrections and discuss things with her. I'm not sure that's the solution I was looking for, but, then again, I didn't know a good solution would be in the first place...He said she understood and agreed with my concerns and that "things would be different in the future." Everyone was out of the office on Wednesday, so I didn't go in, so I guess I'll find out what "different" means on Monday. Hopefully it'll be different in a good way...
**I had an amazingly hard test in soc. research methods. Dontcha love it when virtually nothing on the study guide appears on the test? Grr. No one left that one feeling really confident they did well...Hoping for a serious curve on this one, it's like 50% of the grade or something!:/
**Went and had my blood pressure checked today. 107 over 78. Much better--the increased meds are working for me. Heart rate: 105. Not so good, it's always at least that, sometimes up to 120. New medical thing to ponder: sinus tachycardia. Evidently effexor has a tendency to raise the heart rate, and since I'm on 225 mg of the stuff, that's probably the reason for my fast heart rate. And asthma meds, mostly my proventil inhaler. Not to mention the lack of exercise and the high salt diet. I LOVE SALT DAMMIT!!! Anyway, I'll have to ask the Dr. about that at my annual next month--saw the nurse practitioner today and didn't think to ask her since I don't think about stuff like this till much later (and then way too much, working myself into an emotional dither).
**Doug came back home not five minutes after leaving for work this morning to give me my Valentine's gifts--three pink roses, a bag of dark chocolate dove promises, and a mushy card. I had dig out a vase from the scary cupboard by the litter box to put them in--haven't gotten a bouquet in a long time.:) I got him a mushy card and a new bottle of Curve for men.;) Tomorrow we go out for dinner with Heather and Chris (their treat!) as a late Valentine's day double date. Normally V-day is not a big deal around here, but this year was an exception.
**Maddie (our cantankerous calico) began sneezing like a fiend this morning and she's been sleeping a lot more than normal. She sneezes a bunch of times, then she rubs her nose with her one paw and sneezes some more, then goes back to sleep. Hopefully it's not a cold. She is SO not fun to take to the vet-she's a biter!:0 I won't even discuss trying to give her meds...
Wow, that was really long for not using a cut tag. My apologies! With that, it's off to bed, methinks.
