A Cat Momma's Love...

Here's a picture J took of me with Lars at the e-vet on Monday night when I was bidding goodnight to him before we left him there for his emergency care. There's nothing quite like the love between soulmates.... <3

Two songs for my love...

We've been going through a time of it lately...both of us with pretty major vehicle woes, J's PC hard drive(s) restoration, cat health issues, among many other things...Bad enough that we had to cancel our annual sojourn up to Minnesota for CONvergence/see his parents...

I'll just leave these here for him to find if he happens upon my LJ... <3 Love you, honey, to the moon and back again. We'll get through this tough time, we always manage somehow...

Love Wins...

“No union is more profound than marriage, for it embodies the highest ideals of love, fidelity, devotion, sacrifice, and family. In forming a marital union, two people become something greater than once they were. As some of the petitioners in these cases demonstrate, marriage embodies a love that may endure even past death. It would misunderstand these men and women to say they disrespect the idea of marriage. Their plea is that they do respect it, respect it so deeply that they seek to find its fulfillment for themselves. Their hope is not to be condemned to live in loneliness, excluded from one of civilization’s oldest institutions. They ask for equal dignity in the eyes of the law. The Constitution grants them that right.

The judgment of the Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit is Reversed.

It is so ordered”

Well, whadya know...

...cat mama's get to celebrate Mother's day, too!

The fur kids somehow busted out of the house with their Cat Daddy without my noticing and got me a funny card (which they all signed somehow, I'll have you know... ;) ) and a lovely sterling silver pendant with a charm of a moon with a dangling gold star that has "I love you to the moon and back" inscribed on it. Cat Daddy also got me a card. :)

Talk about feeling special! What a blessing these four cats are, and that Cat Daddy--what a guy!! :) I am truly loved! :) <3

Ninth Anniversary!! :) <3

On this date nine years ago tonight, J and I met for the first time. It was a blind date, set up by our mutual friend, L, whom I worked with at the time. We decided to make a weekend of it, hanging out with L and her husband at their house. There was much food, many tipsy beverages, much geekery, some bowling, and sparks flew! And, I daresay, they're still flying! :)

Nine years and many adventures (both good and not so good) later, we're still together. We're in it "for the long haul" as J always used to always reassure me, and our longevity seems to prove that. ;) Some people ask--"what about marriage?" after being together as long as we have. We figure--if it ain't broke, don't try to fix it. We're both perfectly content to "live in sin" as we have been, but that's not to say that marriage is never in the picture. It's just that I've been burned pretty badly once already in the marriage game, and J's not in any rush, either, so...yeah. I think we'll get around to doing "The Deed" eventually, just not for now.

Anyway--here's some pictures!! :)

A shot of J and me from 9 September 2006 at the Dunn's wedding (the hosts of our first date!).

And, again, the most recent picture of us, from 7 March 2015, at Minnehaha Falls.

Happy ninth anniversary, honey. I still love you to the moon and back again... <3

In honor of Valentine's Day...

Relationship time warp!!

Here's J and I, about six months together, in Maine at the Dunn's wedding in September of '06.

Here's we are, last August, almost eight years later...still in love, still very much together, at the Lester's wedding.

Will there ever be a wedding for us?? Maybe. We're quite content "living in sin", as it were. Neither of us is in a big hurry, if you hadn't noticed, but it doesn't mean the love and commitment isn't there for it. :) <3 So...ya just never know... ;)

For J...

I kept hearing this song played with commercials and was finally able to tag it with Shazam on my phone at a grocery store. It's cute, and I'm posting it everywhere in hopes that J will see it somewhere in his travels online today. I love you, man, to the moon and back again! <3

Of blind dates and anniversaries...

Pam and Jason 12 Oct 2013

Eight years ago today I went on a blind date set up by Lydia, a friend and co-worker, who thought that me and her friend Jason would be a great match. The plan was to make a weekend of it at her and her fiance's house; Jason would come in from Bolingbrook and I from Kenosha and there would be much chatting, drinking, eating and watching movies to be had as an easy way to get to know each other better. Seemed okay to me, and to him, too, I think...

I figured I would be making a new friend, nothing more. Blind dates, after all, are sorta a crap shoot. Little did I know we'd actually make a love connection and still be together eight years later! He's my best friend and soul mate. We've been through good times, great times, not so great times, and bad times, but we always make it through it all--together.

So here's to successful blind dates! Happy eighth anniversary, honey! I love you to the moon and back again... <3
