Pam Jazz Cat Kersting. That shit still cracks me up. ;)
What doesn't necessarily crack me up is what I'm reading on the drug sheet that came with it. Possible side effects include dizziness or lightheadedness, abdominal cramps, diarrhea, changes in vision, watery eyes, headaches, sweating, flushing (can a cat even do that?) or increased saliva. None of these sound all too pleasant. Can't even reward her with food after she gets this pill--it's a take on empty stomach med--so I have to wait an hour after she gets it to give her something. Also, it's a sizeable pill, which means half a sizeable pill for her along with everything else...
Of course I didn't read the drug sheet until well after the vet was closed for the night. J and I decided together to start her on the drug anyway and to just keep a close eye on her behavior in the meanwhile until we can call and ask the vet what sort of side effects kitties tend to manifest while on this stuff. Perhaps they don't suffer from any ill effects of the drug...Just don't know!
She's just on so much medication right now, so scary wondering if they all play well together. I try to trust my vets to know, but should I really? I know Dr. DiVerde does a lot of homework before he prescribes things, and that's who saw Jazz today, but Dr. Bajwa relies a lot on his years of experience as a vet. Not that he doesn't do his research--I know he does, but not as much as Dr. D.
Le sigh. Am I thinking and worrying too much? She's a small cat, only 6.1 pounds today. If any kitteh's gonna get side effects, it's her, based on size alone.
Argh, so scary and stressful! :(
