comfort shopping.

Ever since I last saw my niece I have been on a quest. She had some really groovy crayola crayons that contain a mix of a few different colours--they're called crayola color mix-ups. I covet those crayons because they are really neat to draw and colour with! I have had no luck finding them locally and they don't appear to be sold at the online store on crayola.com. I even have my mom looking for them in AZ.;)

Anyway, on my Crayon Quest for today, I ended up at Michael's and they sell metallic crayolas! Those are really cool, too! So I snatched up a box! Then, Dog help me, I went to Toys R Us. No luck on the crayola mix-ups, but they had GRUMPY CARE BEARS!!! Beanie size, regular size and jumbo size. I opted for the beanie size, so he can ride with me in the car.;) AND they have this new playdoh that's softer and comes sealed in a pouch--that looked cool, so I snatched up a package of purple! And I found a cool egg shaped bunny stuffy (it's purple with white polka dots) for my niece for Easter! How cool is that?;)

I have always loved the scent of a fresh box of crayola crayons and playdoh. Those are safe smells from my childhood and very comforting to me. With all the stress of school, the fast-approaching changes of graduating and re-entering the "real world" and all the war stuff these new purchases made me feel like a little kid again. Isn't amazing how things so seemingly small can make ya feel a little bit safe and innocent again? I may get older, but I refuse to grow up, dammit!!!
